There was a dry cleaners in our neighborhood named "Lawrence's". The sign was on the front of the building for over thirty years. Eventually, the "L" fell off the sign leaving only a faded "L" shape surrounded by dirt. It was the ghost of the missing "L". What became funny about it was the the Lawrence family sold their business to a lovely family from a foreign country. They took over and made renovations, and continued providing the same quality service which the Lawrence family provided for three decades. They even replaced the old sign with a new one: "Awrence's". Now that's funny.

A huge five foot sign that says, "Caution, antelope merging with traffic at 55 miles per hour."

Of course, it's not funny when it really happens. But we got a good laugh.
