I totally believe that but I think it is worse to give into temptation than to simply think about it and realize that it would be an even bigger betrayal to go through with it. Everyone has "impure" thoughts, but it takes a strong person to turn away from them

To me, temptation is having the thought of doing something that goes against my principles. Dwelling on the thought and imagining the actual act is to me "sinning with the mind". The physical act is what it is, morally, legally and spiritually; actually committing the sin. And yes, the mind will stray and try to rationalize a situation. We have imaginations. So can any be 100% faithful? I say yes, there's a world of difference in being tempted and being faithful.

I think that being permiscuous in our minds is alright as long as we don't act on it in real life. Everyone has fantasies ( I would suspect even those who are self righteous have fantasies as well despite the fact that they deny it). Many of us think that the grass is greener on the other side, however, when one gets over there, it's actually just as brown as ours and because we ventured over, we may have lost our own brown grass. It takes strength to be faithful, it is much easier to succumb to fantasies and temptation, but it is not worth it 99.9% of the time; fantasies come with there own set of baggage.

Charles,
I guess it depends on what you believe, or who you believe in. Jesus taught that committing a forbidden act in your mind, made you guilty of that act. " If you even look at a woman, to lust after her, you have already committed adultery". He taught that all of our actions and decisions stem from our thoughts. If we secretly long to do something we know we shouldn't, given the right circumstances, we will. He said that we must learn to control our thoughts, as well as our actions, or we will never learn to control ourselves at all.
