.357 cause you can shoot A .38 special out of them and they are cheap to shoot that way. I shoot around a 100 rounds a week out of this gun it is very acurate. I also like my 30-06 on my contender it is acurate but hurts like hell to shoot.

You sound too young to have a handgun, but...

What are you looking for? Self-defense? Hunting? Plinking? Target? I carried a Czech CZ75 for a while, a Gov't. Model Colt, a S&W Model 28, and have had the Sig P228, oh, god I could go on and on...

I currently have an Astra A-75, single-stack 9mm. Nice, heavy steel frame. I do all my own 'smithing, so I know what needs to be done. Throat, polish the ramp, etc. I'd stay away from plastic frames, though. I just don't trust 'em.

I proudly own a Sringfield XD .40 cal.

I have put over 1000 rounds through it and I cant recall a single time it has jammed on me.

It's safeties, yes I said safties (meaning it has two), are a trigger safety like a glock, and a grip safety like the Colt 1911s, are just right for someone who preferres a safe firearm.

At 25 yards it is probly the most accurate short automatic I have ever had the privlidge of firing.

I highly recommend the XD, it has never let me down.

if you are looking for reliable, nothing beats a revolver
if you are looking for "bad A S S", nothing beats the most powerful production handgun.

so you want a S&W .500 mag, with a 4 barrel
