Firstly, I know I need to see a doctor and I will be soon. What I'm after here are some explanations so I at least have a heads-up on the possibilities of what I'm dealing with before I go.
For the last two weeks I have been experiencing sharp pain in the bone around my solar plexus spreading to my lower ribs, very similar to the symptoms of costochondritis, but no-where near my heart and equally bad on both sides of my chest. The pain comes in waves that can last anywhere from 1 minute to 1 hour. The pain can be anywhere from a dull ache to a sharp, crippling pain.
I also have, recently - in the last week - been getting a terrible pain in the front of my stomach (in waves, like the chest pain), which in turn feels very tight. The pain can be replicated in my stomach by applying large pressure. My bowel movements have been normal and consistant as has been my diet. Ibuprofen eases the pain temporarily as does warmth and heat. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong with me?

I should also note that the pain is worsened by strenuous physical activity. I leaped out of bed quickly this morning to turn my alarm off only to get one of the worst pain attacks I've had so far.

Also, I have never experienced any symptoms like these before.

I am working with an elderly women who experienced pain in her ribs that radiated across her torso..She has cancer. Please go get checked out and get the proper testing and don't give up until you find answers. If it is something seroiuse you may be able to get help before its to late. Check the pancreas also and take note of all symptoms so you can get a thourough examination.
My lady is in the end stages of cancer and is dying. Its enough for me to say go and get tested. My prayers are with you. Seems like the same sort of symptoms she has and was concerned with and she had to keep pestering the Dr.s until she finally did an Xray
good luck ,
Angie

pls do see your doctor as soon as you can. there could be many reasons why you experience such pain, it could be pumonary, cardiovascular or gastrointestinal, the fact that yiou experience it in several locations and as you say that the pain is sometime crippling you do need to see the doctor, if you wondering if it's heart related, remember that pain from cardiac arrest can be manifested in several areas not just the chest, e.g. arms and abdomen. have a check up asap.
