I have a 1962 Mercury Meteor and the valve covers and air breather are currently yellow. I do not know if that is original for the 260 engine. I would like to paint it back the original color.

Should be the standard "Ford Blue" . Dont remember anything that old having anything else. Air breather will be either black or the plain aluminum. Check the net for photos of your car in original form.
