Just out of curiousity, and I am *not* trying to offend anyone or start a huge battle. I'm curious as to why so many people have become fascist about so many different things lately. I use the term fascist because some people are just gung-ho. I'm not talking your normal "I don't agree with it, and here's why...". I mean the ones who try to get laws passed, argue incessently until you give up your own point of view, etc.
Recent topics that I've noticed include: Smoking, anything having to do with religion (Christians v. Non-believers), homosexuality, the war, seatlbelts, etc.
Like I said .. I'm strictly talking about the ones that go off the deep-end. NOT your average point-of-view kinda thing. I *welcome* different points of view ... I do NOT welcome being worn down trying to explain myself, for instance, when the topic wasn't even about me to start with.
Any thoughts?

wow-you put that really well. it makes me crazy, too. maybe it's that old "squeaky wheel gets the grease" thing. the more noise you make about something the more people try to give it to you just to calm you down and shut you up. i don't know. sure seems like there are alot of crazy freaks out there.

We all have different points of view. However, each of us believe that ours is the correct one. The people your speaking of just seem to have a problem with other people having an opinion (that is if it's different from there own). I think we call those people Communist.

Because some of the topics will have to be argued to settle.Like the war,religions,abortions and the gay marriage thing.Some things are simple though like,seatbelts,cannibalism,and other stuff.
