I have many, and find them really great to get on with. But why is it that Americans on this site wind me up so much. Is it youth? Or are they just arseholes!

Don't let it wind you up, I call it yanking my chain, too many other things to be bothered about in the world. You know what else , being called an arsehole looks so much better, and sounds better to me.. than the way we say it... even if it means the same thing. I am smiling.

As an expatriate American, I am beginning to see the difference between Americans and the rest of the world. They do seem to be more shallow than other nationalities. They also seem to be more at the mercy of mass media than the rest of the world, as they all spout very similar phrases, as though they really believe them. I can't really put my finger on the reason they are hard to take - I think it may be their sureness, that they have no idea that they could be wrong.
But, like you, I have very good American friends, who are not shallow, and are not irritatingly sure of themselves. I wonder if it is something in the design of this site, maybe the anonimity, that briings out inanity.

Well as an American I can say yes we are all arseholes. We think very highly of oursevels sorry. We try to do better but it must be in our DNA

Im American..and I have many english friends. I don't know why they wind you up so much here. Maybe because it's a Q and A thing, so there are alot of people intentianally trying to be arguementive. Who knows.

Maybe it's just you being ignorant and generalizing all us Americans on this site from your encounters with a few. You do realize that Yahoo! is American right? So is Google for that matter, and AOL, and pretty much every site you forieners love.

I'm American so I take a bit of offense to your statements. Yeah there are ignorant a**holes on here but not all Americans fit this build and not all the ignorant jackasses are American, there are plenty of them around the globe. Sorry about those that offend you, but don't let that taint your view of Americans, because we all aren't like that.

I think a lot of them are kids. Im not even sure that they are all really americans. There are a lot of people pretending to be all sorts of things here.
A grain of salt and a sense of the absurd will really help here I think.

Americans are spolied and we love to induldge ourselves in our freedom of speech. If us americans give you a hard time, it must be for a reason. =0) All, I can really say is I'm American and I know that I fu*king rock!
