No, these people may not be stupid, but they are overly conservative. These same people would probably have had problems with the research for the cures or control of diseases from the past like small pox or polio and who knows what else medical science has done to make life more pleasant for billions of people today...

No. Ethics and intelligence are not tied together. One can understand the benefit of stem cell research, but still be opposed to it for valid ethical reasons. Or, they might be fine with stem cell research, but opposed to federal funding of ANY research due to political reasons.
Just because you disagree with someone's values, doesn't make the person stupid.

Far from it. I certainly am against it. Why would I want the government to spend MY money killing human beings just to "potentially" better the lives of those who are already alive?
