I'm not going to take the curvature of the Earth into effect.

Any linear equation can be written in the form of y = mx+b. This could be related to a grid where y is the longitude, and x is the latitude.

We will assume that we are at the origin (0,0) of the plain. We will also assume that the equation must have a y intercept of 0, since the line is coming from us.

m is the slope of our line, and that will tell us the direction to a town or country.
