Arlington was right about $1.00.

Silver prices are still going up so it may get more valuable.

Not very much...there were two types minted that year for a total of a little over 2 million dimes. In absolute mint condition (uncirculated condition), you could probably get about $1.50. Then again, you can buy a whole roll of 50 playmates for your dime for about $75. :)

1956-D dimes are relatively common for silver dimes. Yours is probably worth about a quarter, just for the melt-down value of the silver.

you could always get an idea on ebay, that's what I do, it's not fool proof, but it will give you a good indication. But I think a 1956 Silver dime can only fetch a few dollars at best, depending on certain marks and double stamping, etc...

For 1 dime, you might get 2 times the face value. If you had 10
silver minted dimes in good shape, you would get about $3.00 for them.

Go to a coin dealer or go buy a coin collector book. Maybe 1 or 2 bucks depending on the condition..

In gem uncirculated (i.e. unused) condition you could probably get between $1 for it from a dealer. A dealer would probably sell it for around $3.

One in "about uncirculated" (i.e. used but very good condition), you might get a quarter or less for it from a dealer and he would sell it for 50 to 60 cents.

It all depends on the condition of the coin. Take it to a coin dealer
