Sue her in a small claims court. You will have to go to court to file, and they will direct you to send her confirmed letter about the case and when to appear in court. Most likely, someone will get in contact with both of you, before hand, to mediate the case between in the chance to solve the case without court appearance, if it fails then you will need to appear in court against her.

Be sure to be prepare with all the proofs of how much and when she took what she owes you. The burden of proof will be on you to prove the case, so it is very important to be prepared, and dress the part. Dress in something suitable for a business meeting, crucial. The judge will judge you before you open your mouth, and then be prepared.
Good luck.

Find out what the maximum amount allowable in small claims court. You may have to retain an attorney. If you are found to be in the right she will be liable for attorney fees and legal costs.
Make sure you have your ducks in a row and gather up any paperwork you have proving that she owes you the money.. signed contract? An attorney would be able to tell you if you even have enough documentation to have a case.
Good luck

Depending on the amount, you may need to file a suit in small claims court (usually under 2500.00). Keep in mind that a civil case is decided by preponderance of evidence - you need to convince the judge/jury that the majority of the evidence is for you, so make sure you have all your facts available before you start - cashed checks, emails, documents, whatever you have.

Good luck!

I'd hire a lawyer on a contingency basis (the lawyer gets paid out of your winnings & doesn't get paid if you don't win).
