Unfortunately plants that will thrive in a zone 2 are not many.
Ones for shade:
OSTRICH FERN
Matteuccia pennsylvanica (M. struthiopteris var. pennsylvanica)
GREEN MOUND ALPINE CURRANT
Ribes alpinum 'Green Mound'
LUXURIANT FRINGED BLEEDING HEART
Dicentra x `Luxuriant`
Aconitum (Monkshood)

There are a couple types of Yarrow, Summer Pastels and Paprika are particularly nice varieties that are zone 2 they are full sun.
Most of your columbines do well with partial sun, especially since they don't like hot sun.
Physostegia or Obedient plants like full sun to partial shade.

As far as trees go, paper birch are also hardy to a zone 2.
Hopefully this helps.
