I'm not necessarily talking a Hillary vs Condi thing... or who is the lesser of evils. I am asking who is the most electable man/woman for the Nations highest office. Do you think it could be Al Sharpton or Newt Gingrich? Mabey Barak Obama or Congressman Mark Kirk? Throw out some new names and provide a reason why... something besides "anyone but ____"

While I agree with only a few people here... I have to say the answers are well thought out and respectable. See what happens when it doesn't turn into a contest about who hates who the most? Good job everybody.

The Best Qualified:
1. Hillary Clinton
2. John McCain
3. John Kerry
4. Joe Biden
5. Barbara Boxer
The Most Electable:
1. John McCain
2. Hillary Clinton
3. Russ Feingold
4. John Edwards
5. John Kerry
And the winner is: Hillary Clinton and Dick Durbin
Obama hasn't been in Congress long enough - give him a few more years and he'll shoot to the top of every list. Unless he screws up and is involved in some kind of scandal the Christian right can jump all over.
Biden is too outspoken for his own good, plus he comes from Delaware - nobody comes from Delaware!! Not enough votes for him to be a viable candidate.
A lot of people don't like Hillary because of Bill and because she's so outspoken, but put a woman on the ticket and almost all the women will vote for her - Republicans and Democrats. Think about it - a woman president!! Its about time we had one.
Kerry blew his chance the last time - enough said.
McCain's health could be a problem, but he's the best-qualified and electable of the Republicans. An outstanding Senator, war hero - those are great attractions, but he's suffered from his backing of Bush and any running mate he'd choose would probably be a liability.
Boxer is eminently qualified, but she's not all that well known outside of California.
Edwards is haunted by the ghost of '04 and his wife's health could be a concern.
Feingold - maybe.
How did Durbin get on my ticket with Hillary? He's from Illinois - good solid Democratic state and would probably pull a couple of other states along with him.

You ask a simple question and you get all this crap.
Ideally I like Colin Powell, but since he won't run...
Sen Joe Biden.
He has a lot of congressional experience yet has remained an fairly independent thinker (supported John Roberts ). He has usally distanced himself from rhetoric and has expressed his willingness to work though compromise. Though he is Liberal he has been a man of action.
I view him as a fairly moderate Liberal.
The GOP has McCain but he has spent far too much time pandering to the extreme right as of late.

I like Obama even though I am a Republican. I think he might do a good job. I wish Colin Powell would run, but since he won't, my number one choice is Condi Rice. She is very intelligent and a much better choice than Hillary.

If you want my honest opinion about this, it makes no difference. Whoever the Illuminati wants to be our next president, will be. Don't believe for a minute that major U.S. elections are real. They can manipulate election results any way they want to, and they do. It's all just a big mind game they're playing with us.

I hope....Barak Obama. The guy is smart, he has charisma...(his charisma plus Al Gore's missing charisma), he's good looking.... did I mention smart? I just hope the country is ready to elect a black man (I worry about some of those red states). He'd be GREAT.

I still think Al Gore would have the best shot--especially now that he discovered a personality.
-no skeletons
-total name i.d.
-doesn't have Clinton the Pig around his neck anymore
-has a great issue where he can't be challenged
-has a bunch of money now (holy cow..15 million from a documentary!!)
I think he's unbeatable if he runs.
