The Golden Girls had to be the best show for showing every woman that life doesn't end when you reach the golden years of your life.
They shared their joy, tears, problems and feelings with one another in every episode and with each character being totally different from the other shows that people can get along with each other if they really want to make a go of it, even with ones mother being included.
As for the exclamation point carved into their door well, not sure about that but I will look for it the next time I watch the show tonight.

Well, it was Blanche's house, so I wouldn't have been surprised by anything which she may have had carved into her front door. (I'm gonna look real hard the next time I watch a rerun!)
The show was so good, because of the perfect blending of the character types. When Sofia moved in, that really capped it off, for me. But I get such a kick out of all four of them...what chemistry!

ya know i don't know about the exclamation point but i did love them all of them one was not better than the other. you had the ditz, the tramp, the divorcee, the mama and the bad ex husband STAN. I loved that show when i was growing up we would watch it every night. LOLOLOL
