I live in South Carolina. Born and raised.

S.C. has the gorgeous beaches of the Grand Strand which includes Myrtle Beach and Pawley's Island. S.C. has incredible mountains. The Midlands has diverse towns and Columbia, the capital. Charleston is one of America's oldest cities with a rich history. There are several major fresh water lakes including Murray, Marion and Santee Cooper.

I can not understand, though, why a lot of people (who have never visited our state) seem to insist that the population is somehow backwards or ignorant. Simply not true. Some of the nicest people you'll ever meet are in South Carolina.

Excuse me Tootsie but u have no clue what you're talking about. I live in South Carolina. I have never heard of anything called Cow Ants. South Carolina is a great place to live. There is much more to it than just rednecks and "cow ants."

I have visited there but I would never live there. It has nothing to do with the people or the scenery but these things called Cow Ants. They're these huge ants(almost as big as my pinkie finger) and they have fur. But what's really gross is that they squeal when you step on them. ewwwwwwwwww.
