HBO's DEADWOOD! Thoughts on the Show...?

do you love it, hate it; who's your favorite? what do you think is going to happen?

It is one of the few shows I watch, and I greatly enjoy it. Although I do think this season has fallen off quite a bit - I think the characters have, generally, gotten less interesting - some even cartoonish.

My favorite this season is McRaney as Hearst - he is being given a lot to work with in that role, and he is solid in his presentation.

Is Hearst going to exit Deadwood with a bang or a whimper? - that's the big question. Are they going to tie his departure in the burning of the Gem? I am sure Milch will include that historical event and give it a bit of dramatic flare - whether he does so in Season 3 (as part of Hearst's departure) or whether it will be in the series-ending movies remains to be seen. I am looking forward to Wyatt Earp coming to down at the end of the season and looking for a job. Given how good a job Milch did creating the Hickok character in Season 1, I hope for a similar rendering of Wyatt. I also wonder how Seth (now a borderline psychopath, it seems) is going to react to a "name" coming into town for his job. Could be fun.

And, oh yes, eesh1976 is going to be way disappointed. ;-)

Love it! favorite is Swearinger (sp). Haven't watched the last couple but have them tivo-ed. can't really predict anything goes as long as it doesn't go gay like Sopranos. (literally)
