It seems like there is a lot of children on this site. So how many of you are adults? And do the parents of the children realize that this site is a breading ground for perverts and sickos that are trying to chat with underage persons?

well im 23 not a sick o or a pervert but i would never let my child use this site with out supervision

I am a 46 year old mother of five. And while I have had fun answering some of the more serious questions and a few of the absurd. I try to keep my answers as appropriate as possible, because I am aware of the children on here.
There is no way I would allow my children to be on this site. Unless I was sure of what they were doing, ie asking about science or such or looking at answers along the same lines.
I don't think it's the best place for sharing their feelings or asking questions they should be asking their parents.
I believe there is a mature setting for kids viewing, that should be set. Though I don't know if most of the parents even know their kids are on here.
But it doesn't seem to prohibit adults from answering which could be bad. At the same time some adults would have valid things to contribute. So should they be prohibited from answering?
There are questions being asked by both adults and children that shouldn't be asked and some of those are against the rules of yahoo.
Perhaps what we can do is report abuse, when we see it.

I am 25, have no children, and don't know about the parents of the children then.
My guess is they feel like an accomplished parent as their child(ren) are at the computer, not in front of the tv. How sad, not too many perverts are actually contacting their children from the tv.
Well, thank goodness they aren't spending quality time together!

30 something. I think its a great site for pre teens to get answers they don't want to ask their friends or par nets. Of course you will always get the crazy questions and answers in this forum! It entertains me. As far as the sexual predators are concerned, Its gonna happen and that's the parents responsibility to monitor their children. I think the fear of Dateline NBC has made a large impact with their specials on it to scare the hell out of a lot of these sickos.

It's really hard to tell how many adults use this site. I think we're in the minority. I find it hard to believe that parents are monitoring their children's computer activities, judging by some of the questions and answers I've read here.

Call up fox news, they've been waiting for a good expose! During business hours, there's lots of adults on here while they're bored at work. That includes me, but I'm no pervert. Sometimes, a kid just needs advice from somebody who already went through it. That said, I probably would leave my kids on here unattended.

I am 45 sweet dear and to answer your question no I don't think that they know that this site has nut cases and perverts on it.
That is way as a parent you shold always monitor your childs activities.

I am an adult, and notice other adults on here too. I see moms on here. I think that parents need to monitor their kids online no matter what! There are perverts everywhere, we can not avoid that. But we can protect our kids by watching them, caring about them, and educating them.

I'm an adult and find it interesting to read everyones questions and answers, I like to answer the ones I have somewhat knowledge but find it amazing how little the youth knows outside of their IM space. I also use it to moniter the pulse of my kids generation lingo and peer thinking so I can be in tuned to their day to day goings.....u think this is bad,.....try Myspace

I'm a semi-old person ... I don't try to pick up kids, but I do try to give a kind word to people who seem to need one.
And I agree with another responder that parents should supervise their kids on this site, but some kids seem to have apathetic parents.
