I'm using windows xp professional, how can i reinstall the os?

My computer has been inactive for about a year because it needed repair. Now it's up and running but i cant remember the password to my administrative account. How do i reinstall my os. (i dont have the cd)

If you don't have a CD, then you'd better hope there is a restore partition on your hard drive. Reboot the computer and see if there is a "Press [some key] to restore" message, or something similar. Otherwise, you're basically out of luck (legally).
