Pregnancy takes a lot of energy - I wish I could tell you that it gets better - but it might not since every woman and every pregnancy is different. This is my 2nd and I've never been so tired in all my life! Yes, I'm chasing a toddler around and working 8 hours a day while pregnant so I suppose I can't expect to NOT feel tired... Hang in there and the tip about the iron is valid - ask your doc...

Best wishes!

My tiredness lasted only during my first trimester, then went away. I was tired toward the end of my third trimester, but not the same kind of tired...mainly I was tired of being pregnant, lol. It wasn't that mind-numbing exhaustion that I had early in my pregnancy.

My advice to you would be go buy a small, cheap, wind-up alarm clock (or, if your cell phone has one, set it) and go to your car during your lunch break and nap.

I was exhausted my first trimester, but that ends. I would walk in the door from work and just cry because I was so tired.
Honestly, I had more energy in my second trimester than before I was pregnant!
Hang in there, go to bed earlier and it will pass.
Good luck!

You might have an iron deff...if not you could just be tired. My iron is fine and I sleep 12hrs. Thank God I'm a sponge on my husband! Otherwise I'd be napping at work. ^_^

It could go either way. Why don't you try getting your iron tested? If that's low it may be the cause for the sleepiness.

You need to see your family doc and ask to be sent to for a sleep study. You might have apnea.

It's possible it will last the whole pregnancy, but highly unlikely.
