They are certainly not doing anything about it. There is no gas or oil shortage. This whole price fixing is done between a few people who decide what will happen with the price of oil per barrel. Do you believe the Bush and Cheney families are involved in this? The Bush family had major oil holdings before daddy Bush ran for President. Suddenly their names were no longer on the mineral rights and yet there is no record of sale according to anything I can find out on the internet. Cheney never tried to hide his involvment in the world oil distribution. Are we being sold out again by Washington?

they have no idea how it is to be in the real world and have to pay for gas with your own hard earned money. they both get waited on hand and foot. we are killing our own men for freaking gas. it really makes no sense to me because on the news the other day some foreign place was selling gas for like 14 cents a gallon. how come they can sell it that cheap and we cant? it should be our decision to how much gas and oil there is available for us. this is all a drug scam i think and the oil and gas think is all made up.the ha ha just joking on the last part

Sounds like you have your mind made up already.
Was it really a question? Do you honestly think the "Drive By Media" and all its' might and rage, couldn't uncover this if it were true? See, their tactic is just accuse long enough and people will believe it. Kind of like that Fat Michael Moore did with FH911.
"Hmmmm, this seems fishy", aha it's fact. Why don't you go invest in alternative energy? You expect those rich Republicans to do it for you. Did you forget we live in a Capitalist society?
Why didn't Clinton do anything in the 90s?Instead, he made temporary deals with the Saudis to posture the DNC. When we were only paying .99 cents a gallon, you didn't seem to care about being held hostage by the Middle East. I didn't hear you complaining when the price of crude was being bid down so low that wells were capped and Exxon was losing money.
If you want to get the truth, explore all avenues, not the one that fits your political ideology.

If you don't drive, you don't pay for gas. I've driven about maybe 2,000 miles in the last 4 years, it was a bear transitioning back down to sidewalks and a bike, but I did it. Screw OPEC, EXXON, and the rest of it. I can't do much about using plastic, good luck finding a microwave or a computer made with a wood case etc., but as far as fuel, you do have a lot of choices. The less you burn, the less money they get, the less money there is in play, every little bit helps. At the very bare minimum, you can protect YOUR wallet from these guys...I'm not paying 3 bucks a gallon! Screw THAT.

You people whine and cry about gas prices, it makes me sick. Sure they are hgiher then we are used to, but they are still VERY low.

Think about the process to get a gallon of gasoline in your car.
First we have to explore far away lands (because the lib's won't let us drill here) most of the time in very unfavorable places. Then once oil is found you have to drill for it. Then it gets transported (usually via a pipline that you also had to build) to a port. From the port it is loaded up on tankers that bring it back to us on the other side of the world, to another port city.

Then it is moved to refineries (again usually via pipelines), it goes through all the refining processes. Which is more expensive then it used to be because of environmental regulations. Also contrary to popular belief there are not 3 types of gasoline but almost 70. Due to even more regional and state environmental regulations, the gas in California is different then the gas in North Carolina. Then it gets shipped out to regional distribution locations (via pipeline). Unfortunately with the advent of ethanol usage the ethanol cannot be transported in the pipelines because it will damage them. So all the ethanol must be shipped via rail or truck to the regional distribution centers. There the final 'cuts' of gasoline as processed and broken into the 3 different types most are accustomed to. Then the gasoline is loaded on trucks, and shipped to gas stations and pumped into underground tanks. All for (national average) just under 3$ a gallon.

Now lets look at milk. Cow eats grass, cow makes milk, farmer pumps and collects milk. Milk is homogenized and pasteurized, bottled, and shipped to your grocery store. Milk is over 4$ a gallon most places I have looked.

Look whats going on around the globe with Our suppliers, The prices won't come down until we start back drilling Our own oil wells! Don't look at the President look at the leftlib environmentalist! Sure we have to explore new types of energy but it's not gonna happen overnight and until that time comes we need to be updating Our refineries and using Our own oil.

It is a very difficult question to answer. And people controlling oil prices are so powerful that perhaps the world will never know the truth. There is not a single country in the world where people have not suffered due to hike in oil prices.

Don't complain about the price of gas in the US until you do a little research and find out that in other places, like the UK, they pay close to $8/gallon and have ALWAYS paid more than we have.

We should be thankful that we aren't being charged as much as other countries for crude.

Of course!

They need to stop the demand of oil from countries like China and India so the US can use it.

In other words, no.

Bush cannot control the price of oil.

Sure, they're also controlling the fuel prices in Europe. Gas here is over $7 a gallon, BTW.

Republicans... gas prices in Europe are no excuse for our prices to be high here...

in fact... anyone's poor action is no excuse for an equally bad action...

but the simple fact is... war in the middle east= high gas prices.. regardless of if the war is justifiable or not...
