These pesty beetles invaded my pool in the backyard and I am having a real tough time getting rid of them. We try several "shock" threatments that are supposed to rid the waters of bugs and slime, but it doesn't seem to affect the black diving beetles.

firstly you should put insecticide which can kill beetles .if that doesnt work try not to put any water drop of water in the pool .make it empty for i think 5-6 days i f you can live witout swimming . if that also doesnt work try to call any pest killing operators who will spray in your pool and arround it as well

I put out the Bug in a Bag traps. (Found at Wal-Mart or Lowes locally.) Hasn't helped entirely, but it's a start. I haven't tried to water treatments yet. I think the problem is worse with a liquid solar blanket . . . my son disagrees.
