Try a rubber band though the button hole! I am three months and have found some materntiy clothes that do not look stupid at this stage. Keep your eyes out on XS maternity tops and bottoms.

I tried the bella band before, and it wasn't very comfortable for me. The lady at the store did say that it helps to stretch it out before you wear it, so you might want to try that. I would recommend checking out Old Navy maternity. They have some great pants where the elastic is hidden inside, so from the outside they look like regular pants but with more breathing room. There's also different phases of maternity pants, so the first trimester pants are pretty much regular pants with more stretch.
The best deal though, is to try Target--jersey and knit pants and dresses are in, and these will take you through at least the fifth or sixth month. I ended up only buying a few maternity pieces, because I got most of my clothes in the Target junior's section. Good luck!

After two pregnancies and two with my best friend, this is what you should do. Go out to a Motherhood Maternity store or Target. Get just a few things. Trust me, don't waste money on alot of maternity tops, just get one size up from your normal size. Get one or two sale rack maternity jeans and a few pairs of work pants if you need them. ALWAYS CHECK THE SALE RACK FIRST! Get one or two dresses if you have an occasion where you need one within the next 3 monthes. Another thing I love is stretchy jersey skirts and light cotton night gowns. I had one with my son that looked just like a dress, so I wore it out everywhere and no one said anything. Oh, before I forget, Walmart has a good selection of maternity wear too and I find it incredibly durable. Get some good shoes and socks too. You wioll need a good bra here in a little while, so try a sports bra for casual and a nicer cotton bra for work and other times. Cotton breathes remember! Good luck!

Target has some really cool ones. They look like regular pants, but they have an elastic waist that grows with you during your different stages. There's a hidden button on the inside that you eventually put in the next button hole to extend them/let them out a little when you start getting bigger.
Also, even though you may not feel right about doing this, go to a local thrift store or consignment store and buy some inexpensive pants to get you through until you start wearing real maternity clothes.

Definitely buy the Bella band! If you start buying clothes now, you'll need new ones in 2-3 months and again 2 months after that. And, maternity clothes are ridiculously expensive.
If you really want maternity, though, go to gapmaternity.com.
If you know what size you are at the gap, it's the same size, just maternity. I swear, my jeans are exactly the same as pre-pregnancy jeans other than the flap.

i just had my second child 4 months ago!! You have two choices, either fork out the $$$ for nice cute maternity clothes that will have no purpose when you have your baby, or stick to tights, volour suits, & overalls! i had to give most of the clothes that i purchased to my sis who is a few sizes bigger than i!

Just by some knit pants, shorts, skirts, whatever until you get bigger. Make sure that you buy them a couple of sizes larger than what you would normally wear so that you don't outgrow them right away.
Good luck!

Be careful buying maternity clothing. Some is made so poorly that two washings and it falls apart. I suggest you wear loose dresses in this heat.

You can go to a specialty shop and try to get the smallest size or something.
