I just bought a new iPod, I have iTunes all set up, but the computer doesn't know that the iPod is connected. The iPod is still charging through the computer, but that's all..

What do I do/?

#2- I did that, it brought up the Apple. But that's it, what does it really do? and I don't think it changed anything...

Try this...While the iPod is plugged in to the computer, Hold down the center button and menu at the same time. Make sure the "HOLD" switch is in the off position. After a few seconds the iPod should reset and be recognized by the computer.

Did you install the iPod software?

If not, do so now.

Make sure the USB port is working as well.

Have you downloaded the usb program thing? If not it wont work, it does the same thing with a digital camera. You have to have the USB downloaded.
