I don't know about on the computer but there is a reasonable priced cd rom that is called Factory Scrapbook Maker and you can make invitations, cards, certificates, etc. It is about 20.00 and it is really worth it

If you have photo impact...photo express, or something similar ...Buy a card you like or even a gift wrap paper, scan the part of the design you like and adapt it to your needs...
I use Hallmark Card Studio....and just add things I've scanned .
It makes some great cards (it'a a Sierra home CD set).
Be inventive, get pix of the bride and groom insert them, change them to watewrcolour paintings for example... or frame with heart shapes
smudge the edges and add them to the front of your card...
I did that with my sons wedding announcements and they came out really nice.
Use a neat paper...japanese artisan papers, heavyweight textile type papers, etc.

www.invitationpaper.com (You can buy bulk paper for 250 invitations and reception cards for very cheap)
Then go to Wal-mart or somewhere and buy a print shop cd so that you can get good fonts and pictures and go from there.
