1. Turn the clothing inside-out.
2. Don't wash anything with it that is made of terry-cloth, fleece, etc. or material that will affect your black clothing.
3. Washing in cold water also helps.

My Grandson washed his clothes, but failed to remove a new opened package of tissues from the pocket. What a mess.
I finally got smart on how to get the lint off of the clothes. it's not fun but it did work.
Put a few pcs. of the clothing in the washer filled with water. Do Not crowd the clothes. Let it agitate for a few minutes. Stop the machine. Lift the clothing out of the washer, one piece at a time. Put the wet clothes in a container. Spin the water out of the washer, then wipe the insides of the tub. Refill and repeat
until you no longer see lint on the clohes. If, when you refill the washer you see a lot of lint, spin it out.
Do not let the clothes be in the washer while the water is draining or spinning, it will be depositin the lint back on the clothes.
I try to wash my black clothes first, after the tub has filled I check to make sure I don't see a lot of lint , then I add the detergent. It will also help to run a rinse cycle , empty washer,
when you are done with the laundry to get rid of any lint hanging around in the washer.
Hope this helps.

Go to the store and buy a box of anti-static sheets for the dryer (like Bounce). They help to keep the lint from sticking to the clothes while they're in the dryer.

Make sure your pockets are empty before you wash- and this is what trips even old hands here!
And wash your black things separately from your white and terrycloth things.
If you're really concerned, wipe out the inside of the dryer now and then with a damp cloth and use bags to protect your clean clothing.
Good luck!

I wash mine in COLD water and alone, not even with other black fabrics that may have hidden white batting which can leave white bits. Cold will keep the sharp black color. Use a liquid fabric softner in the rinse, and if using the dryer, clean the lint screen FIRST! Good luck, Amy N

Wash separately in cold water - dry either by hanging (if delicate fabric) or in dryer with bounce. Use a piece of duct tape, wrapped around your hand, to remove lint. Cheap and works every time! Also good for cat hair....

Don't wash them with anything (especially towels) except colors that are dark and also clean the lint trap in the dryer after every use.

A little bit of static spray- I like StaticGuard, but it does stink a little,- on the inside and outside of the garment- will work. To keep the stink down (it kind of smells like adhesive) put dryer sheets in your drawers/ inside the clothes if they are being hung up, and it'll keep moths away, too! :)
