Odd that Joplin then owned a Porsche 356. It is painted psychadelic colors and is on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Worth a trip at least once in your life, especially based upon the tone of some of your questions!

I loved hearing Janis Joplin sing 'Scarlet Begonias' with the Dead, mostly that song reminds me of this girl I used to know in high school, she was very much the free spirit in that song :)

Janis singing " I'am Leaving On A Jet Plane ". It still sounds great to hear this song after so many years. It's got something that's hard to discribe.

Hate to be so common, but mine is "Piece of my Heart".
But a close second is "Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz". Cause I love the way she laughs at the end.

Right now...its only appropriate to listen to 'summertime' but i cant pick just one....i love her songs so much. But "peice of my heart" "move over" and "bobby mcgee" are classic songs! i love the sound of her voice....if you've only heard one song...and hear another one you've never heard before... you know its her cause her voice seperates her from everyone elses!
Oh sh*t...i forgot to mention my favorite song by her "down on me" that song is the song of my life!
