Oklahoma City businessman Clay Bennett: "It is not our intention to move or relocate the team"

I am sooooo pissed off. Seriously. You don't know how depressed I am. I'm a die hard Sonic fan...have been for the last 20 years. I don't blame them for selling. Seattle sports fans suck. They are a bunch of band wagoners. Take it from someone who's lived here all his life. They call themselves a football town, but they're absolutely not. Nor are they a baseball town. And, they're certainly not a basketball town.

It pisses me off. I feel like I just lost a family member.

For those who don't know, they were sold to Oklahoma City along with the Seattle Storm. They probably won't actually move for a couple years, but damn I'm so depressed. Any words of comfort would be appreciated.

The hard thing is, I don't see Seattle having the opportunity to get another team for a long, long time. Cities like Pittsburg and Las Vegas and Anaheim will certainly be more attractive than a non-sports town like Seattle.

Oklahoma City is getting a great organization. I wish them the best.

God fu*cking dammit.

OK this part is an update. I just read the whole article about the selling of the Sonics and:

"Bennett said at an afternoon news conference that whether the Sonics remain in Seattle for the long term would depend on whether the team can reach an agreement with the city to replace or renovate KeyArena.

"It is not our intention to move or relocate the teams," Bennett said."

Whew. I'm gonna be praying tonight.

I heard about the Sonics moving to Oklahoma this afternoon. I am a little confused about why they are making this move. I don't know if they will change their name to the Oklahoma SuperSonics.

They aren't moving, they were just bought. The people stated that as long as they can negotiate a reasonable stadium and everything like that and work things out with the city that they will stay. Happens all the time with every team, calm down lol.

direct qoute from yahoo.com's nba news:
"Mayor Mick Cornett cautioned Tuesday that the purchase of the Seattle SuperSonics by an Oklahoma City businessman does not necessarily mean that the NBA franchise will relocate to the city. "
Calm down, when they do move begin to freak out. i dont really care where they move i just want them to change their name. can you seriously contend for a title with a name like the supersonics?
