of course it could be many things but I would look first at:
choke stuck -- (there will be an automatic choke that is designed to engage when the motor is cold and disengage when it warms up) If the choke is sticking then it is keeping the engine choked when it shouldn't be. if this is your problem, the engine should run a little rough when it is hot, and a tank of gas won't last as long, and you may get visible black smoke in the exhaust
stuck carbuerator float -- if the carbuerator float is stuck it can act sort of like a "choked" engine and feed to much gasoline for starting hot (you may notice a stronger than normal gasoline smell when trying to start it if this is your problem)

Return it to Sears. When hot the compression in the cylinder is increased. Change the oil, plug air filter so it will start easier.

there is no choke? If the choke is set to fast it may have a hard time starting. Set choke to slow before restarting

Check your air filter it could be very dirty. its like working with your nose covered you dont have enough air.
