D. None of the above. I'm going with this one - because FIRST OF ALL- MIL would not be coming unannounced! Not into my home for a 2 week visit. Even if it was an emergency - she could call and ASK if she could stay with me and her son - there would be some time to give me a heads-up. We'd have some kind of notice. Now - the dog bite - why did doggy bite her? What was her part in the matter? I would not put my dog down. You've given the dog its shots - right? It's time to tell mom-in-law "Good-bye" and bring your house back in order.

Say, "GOOD DOG!", then pat her on the head and give her a treat.

Then tell your mother in law that you're sorry but it just isn't safe for someone to stay very long at your house. Your dog bites.

You can't keep your dog pinned up for that long. It would be cruel.

The best answer that you probably want to hear is A. It really depends on how bad the bite was. If he bit her finger and is biting people all the time and is just plain mean, then it may need to be put down. If this is his first bite and it does not continue, there is no need to put it to sleep. Monitor his behavior closely and keep him away from people he does not like like the NANNA

D. Pretend your shocked and upset at the dog. Make sure to take her away in a stern attitude and once behind the door where no body see's you give her a nice pat on the head.

E) Smack your Mother-in-law with a rolled-up newspaper and put her in the back yard. Take the dog to the vet for observation. Laugh to yourself, just not out loud.

E.) None of the above. I would laugh and hope that I got it on camera!!!! :P

P.S If you want a serious answer, then I would DEFINITLY NOT put the dog down. That's cruel. I would rather have the mother-in-law put down! :P

Whether or not she had a planned visit or not....you're dog didn't like her period!
It would have happened eventually.
Maybe she provoked it.
How rude to just show up like that anyway, but no excuse for what the dog did.
If you r yonug child -2yrs. bit her would you put the unknowledgeable child "down" too?
Praise for something that you probably don't want her/he/the dog doing again is not going to help you!

Have your mother-in-law put down? That seems a bit harsh. What kind of doggie treat?
