I think it had something to do with a girl who was going out with Jessie Lacey from Brand New and cheated on him with his best friend, Nolan who was part of Taking Back Sunday(TBS) but then in turn had a disagreement with the lead singer of TBS because he cheated on his sister. Anywho... can someone please elaborate! What songs have something to do with the situation and what happened exactly???

Andrea: We as fans are curious because we want to understand the lyrics a little more. It gives the songs a whole different meaning once you know the insight.

Basically that's it. The Brand New song "Seventy Times Seven" and the Taking Back Sunday song "There's no "I" in Team" are about the wreckage and betrayal of Jesse's and John's friendship. As for the Adam vs. John thing, you have the right idea about, but no one really knows. In Interviews Adam won't talk about it, or pass over it briefly, changing the subject and John says the breakup was really about creative differences. He really didn't see himself going in the the direction that Adam was headed. Which might at least be possibly truthful considering that the earliest TBS lyrics are quite immature (as in well-written teenage lovesick poetry, which is quite reasonable considering Adam was 17 when the record was started) when compared to the mature lyrics from their Sophomore and Junior Albums. Though, don't dwell on such things, the past is past. It's a swore subject. Not really anyone's business but their's it. Really, I can't see why people care so much. What is it to them? We still have TBS. Thank God. And now there is Straylight Run. I'm not saying this just to you, but to everyone, because I've seen this question too many times to count.

well Adam was dating Nolan's sister, Michelle, but cheated on her with what was thought to be Jessie Lacey's ex but was actually (supposedly) just a groupie who's name is Chandy Li Erskies. Nolan was accused of sleeping with Jessie's girlfriend but they have reconciled and are still the bestest of friends. figure out that whole tiff in "seventy times 7" and "there's no 'i' in team" nobody really knows if that was all Nolan and Adam's big fight was about but that led to Nolan and Shaun leaving and forming Straylight Run with Michelle and writing "a slow descent" about the whole ordeal with leaving TBS and such. uhhhh......yea well sorry that's all over the place i'm being distracted but that's pretty much the whole issue in a nutshell. look it up on wikipedia.
