C-section is less painful at the time (because you have an epidural in place), but more painful after the birth because you have had a surgery on your abdomen. Vaginal birth with an epidural is not very painful at all, without an epidural it is very painful. However, with the vaginal birth your body recovers much more quickly and you have much less pain after the birth than with a C-section. Have the vaginal birth with an epidural if you can.

Well, with a c-section, you are numb while they are doing it, so you won't feel anything then but pressure when they push the baby out of the incision. With a normal vaginal delivery, if you get the epidural and it's a good one, then you are numb and don't feel anything at all, even the baby coming out.

With a c-section, because it is major surgery, it will take longer to heal after then a vaginal birth would. You have to worry about wound care, and sometimes getting stitches out, although now days they will usually do internal stitches so you won't have to get them out. With a vaginal birth, it is possible to not have stitches at all- it's a very low chance, but it does happen sometimes, and if there is stitches, there are never as many as there would be with a c-section. You still have to worry about wound care, and making sure you stay clean, but it's different then with a section wound.

As far as healing is concerned, normal vaginal deliveries are better for healing in a shorter amount of time. A section can take upwards of 8 weeks to heal. During that time, it can be hard to lift the baby, do normal household chores, or even take care of yourself. With a normal vaginal birth, usually you feel pretty good within a few weeks, and are totally healed by 6.

As with anything, there are exceptions, and when I say normal vaginal delivery, I mean a birth without complications, forceps, vacuum, ect.

Normal birth I'd know because I had a baby twice and a c section is less painful but it smells because you smell them burning your skin
