I would not be able to choose, when I lost my sense of smell I was totally shocked to find out how important it is. All food tastes the same, and I used to enjoy gourmet cooking. I was actually quite good and you would have certainly enjoyed a meal if I had prepared it, but now I consider the smoke alarm as a kitchen utensil. I will never again be slowing down to smell the roses. And I have no idea if the garbage or if my laundry is a bit "high"
The Idea of the loss of other senses is too much to consider, and choosing only one sense?
The sense of "Self" the sense of who i am and of what I am with all the history and friends and family and all that. Without that sense even if you could have all the other senses you would still be a total vegetable

sight
so I could see the person I'm touching
or avoid things that would hurt me
read lips for the loss of hearing
see that i'm not eating something rotten for the taste
see that I'm not in a situation where I could be hurt from loss of smell like a gas leak (avoid homes that have natural gas fixtures)
I forgot the most important thing - so I can gain and pass on my knowledge on Yahoo Answers

I would have to say sight. I love all the colors and beauty of the world. Love doing arts and crafts and love seeing my grandchildren beautiful faces. As for my hubby I know it would be taste, because he loves food. Nothing ever taste bad to him, why he would dry up and blow away with taste, could take a few years lol.

Sight for me, I couldn't walk around in a dark world for the rest of my life. Losing touch would also eliminate pain - at least there's a good side. With blindness, it just sucks.

My favorite sense is sight. Imagine not being able to see all those beatiful sights!
But, if I could only have one, I would choose hearing. At least hearing people will make it easier for you to get around and stuff.

Hearing definitely!! I love to sing and I love listening to music so I could not go a day without either! And plus imagine not being able to hear conversations or movies or tv. I couldn't live without it!

Definitely sight. I would even give up the ability to orgasm, as long as I could still read. It would be horrible without any of them, however.

Good question!!!
It is hard to choose between touch and sight.
I would never want to not be able to hold my kids and feel them hug me but I think it would be worse to not "see" them grow up!
Okay - I am voting for sight!!
