and do what they do best sell arms and nukes etc to the arabs so that they can kill themselves. the british did this for many years- arming saddam hussien and the americans sponsored the taliban in afganistan to kick out the russians. so why cant usa and uk do the same?

UK has been there for 150 years, the US has been there post ww2. Yes i think it is about time they get out. 911 was an effect, the cause is the ongoing backing corrupt bloody regimes like Saddam and the current house of Saud, expoitation of middle east wealth, and direct or proxy wars in the middle east by the UK, West and USA.

If only the world were as simple as just taking your ball and going home. It's not. The U.S. Britain, and every other nation has helped other countries when they thought it was advantageous to do so. Later without looking at the context of the help it is easy to question the decision to do so. If you think it would have been good to not help Afghanistan against Russia, you probably think it was a mistake to help France in WWII. Should we not have opposed the Nazis? A closed border policy is very near sighted and would change us from super power to super stupid in no time. We must protect our interest around the world and step in when needed.

I totally agree. The west should get out and let the middle east slaughter each other as they have done for centuries. They can't live together, with or without Israel. As for the oil well let them eat it because that's all they'll have to live on. The sheer hypocricy of the arabs when they condemn the west when all the while they sell to the west because they NEED to.
