Err, I'm looking for the actual name of the person who sang.

I'm not referring to Droopy Dog. I'm referring to the guy that had the droopy eyes who often sang with a microphone.

In a lot of the older cartoons, there were characters who were spoofs of real-life celebrities. Popular singers of the time were Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Eddie Cantor, and Al Jolson.

Can you give us a little more info? What particular song the character was singing?

By the way, Droopy Dog was not a Looney Tunes character ... he appeared in MGM Cartoons. (Looney Tunes was Warner Brothers, remember?)

After seeing your additional info ...

If the character was drawn *really* skinny, it was a spoof of Frank Sinatra.

Bing Crosby had a deep voice, usually added "bum-buh-buh-bummm..." between the words ...

Eddie Cantor had large eyes, was usually shown skipping and tapping his fingers together as he sang ....

Al Jolson was best known for singing "Mammy" in the movie "The Jazz Singer" (not shown nowadays due to racial stereotypes).

Hope this helps.

Droopy Dog if Looney tunes is what your thinking of, otherwise it's Huckleberry Hound from the Hanna-Barbara cartoons
