Nobody is able to push effectively for 8 hours. When a woman has pushed for 7 hours without real progress she's not out of nowhere suddenly getting the strength and energy to push out that baby by herself in the eighth hour. You're right, there is something fishy here. There is a reason the midwife lied to the hospital personel, and she didn't have your sister's best interest at heart when she did. Full disclosure is ALWAYS in the patient's best interest. She was covering her own butt there without any care about what consequences the wrong information could have on your sister or your baby. Without an epidural it's normal to push for about an hour, possibly two. If the mother still has loads of energy, the baby is not showing signs of distress, and the pushing seems to be getting somewhere, it can be okay to stretch that out to three hours. 8 hours is insane. That's like asking someone with no training to speak of (after all your sister hasn't been birthing two babies a week for years) to suddenly run three marathons in a row. You know that person won't be doing anything remotely like running by the third marathon.

you will probably never have as tight a tummy as you had but you will get most of it back . . if your section was only a few days ago, you have a lot of healing to do . . . eat well and add tofu to your diet (it helps pull skin back into the muscle - I know that about it but can't tell you how exactly) . . . when you are cleared to go back to "normal routine", crunches will help

You can't, but it won't. It will tighten up in a couple of weeks. I looked like I had a fat lip hanging over my incision for a few weeks after my c-section, but it flattened up normal, and my scar shrunk too.

i hope they cut u from side to side and not up and down. i had a c section 5 years ago and it healed crooked and they cut me too high so i look like a freak. your body will heal the bump, its only been a few days, surgery is always a trauma to the body since it is not natural. dont mess with you r stitches though

Lots of sit ups as soon as the doctor says you able to start exercising again. I didn't do this and I regret it!

You just got to make sure you are not a fatty going into birth. Before you got prego I hope you took care of yourself and didn't eat a bunch of fattening crap leading up to your pregnancy. Ladies need to stay in shape.
