I have a GameCube and it's cool, but if you want to play games on the road, get the PSP. I don't do on-the-go gaming, so the GameCube works for me. It depends on your budget and lifestyle. Also, the PSP allows you to play movies, so that's a plus.

I would highly suggest that you buy a psp. The first reason is obvious. It's portable. I don't know about your lifestyle, but there are lots of times when I would like to play games and I'm not sitting in front of my television. Secondly, games will be developed for the psp longer than they will be developed for the gamecube. With the next generation of Nintendo coming out, developers will likely drop their gamecube production. And last, there are rumors that the psp will be somehow compatible with the Playstation 3.

Oops, forgot one! Videos. You can watch videos and listen to music on the device!
