I am currently a junior in college and I have plans of pursuing my undergraduate studies far from home, could be in the U.S.

Do you like sharing your room or apparent with another person? I think is very weird and uncomfortable to me. I prefer an apparent for myself but if there's not enough money at the moment then I will share it with someone else, what the hell. I am afraid we will never be friends or the person is very disorganized and problematic.

I have family in the states but they are freaking crazy and I rather keep a safe distance from them. Would have been better if they were "normal" people but Oh I was blessed with this family.

My mother shared her room with a bunch of roommates and she told me it was a growing experience but I don't know about me since I view life from a different angle and I always have trouble "relating" to people and build strong bonds.

Tell me your experiences. Did you liked sharing dorms with a room mate? What are the ups and downs?

its better to share ur room when u r away from ur family but just keep one thing in mind never ever give ur opinion about ur other room mates or college friends to others cause u can be back stabbed by them.BE NEUTRAL.first observe ur new friends then judge them before getting close to them.best of luck

Well, I lived with roomates when I was first in college, and it was a an awful experience I had one roomate who was drunk and a deranged person I had to fight him one day; but if u make some friends then u can share with them as it will be cheaper. I personally like to live alone especially have a single room, you can rent a whole house with friends then get a room of your own, in a single room u won't be bothered and u can study.

I would live in a dorm first with an assigned roommate. This is the best way to make friends. Otherwise, you might be in an apt. all alone.

I had roommates in college - It was cheaper! I would've preferred on my own.

it depends... i preferred to live alone. But if you want to have fun (or to kill your roomate) have a roomate. :)
