I have been dating this guy for almost 4 months and he still finds it hard to trust me. He doesn't really talk about his feelings unless he is high or drunk. Does the truth come out then?

This hasn't been tested empirically, but John Steinbeck says that nothing a man says or does while drunk hasn't been considered while sober.

Not sure about being high, that tends to just make people weird.

But I know that when I get drunk I often tell people things I never meant to tell them... And if I was still sober enough to tell a lie, I would tell it very very badly... Drunks make the worst liars ever...

Instead of doing that though, why not just beg him to talk to you. Say it is effecting your relationship (that he won't talk to you)... He could tell you then... Good luck :)

many people lie and exaggerate under the influence of a drug...people tend to be more vulnerable when their defenses are down..talk about these things he says when he is sober....alcohol and relationships are a DANGEROUS mix....this guy drinks and gets high....does he really have anything you want? seriously...what's the attraction??

No alcohol and other stuff is a depresent. They are not a positive thing. If something that seems to good to be true happens while they are drunk. IT IS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE!!!

I believe that some of it does. But for him not trusting you has nothing to do with true feelings. He just does't believe in you. Be carefull

alcohol just loosens the tongue. i've known a lot of drunks that lied. they're not good at it, but they do it.
