Maybe being on their back IS the reason they're dead? I'm thinking they got stuck on their back and starved to death or something.I could be wrong though.

I have...after I stomped it!!
I just think their nervous system paralyzes their wings first and that becomes a heavy weight on their back so they turn over and the last thing they lose movement on is their legs. So they are always kicking when they get sprayed.

I have, I froze it with hairspray and it died like that. As for their backs, just how many dead cockroaches have you seen?
