I read in the latest issue of TV Guide that Desmond didn't die in last season's finale, that he is still alive and will be back next season.
I personally don't think they are all dead but some people seem to believe that.

no, but the computer thing is real and it causes the plane crash in the first place...magnetic bursts from somewhere in the hatch created this...
Desmonds ex-girlfriend works for the place that monitors these magnetic bursts (or when the button isn't pushed)...you'll see her in the very last part of the last episode for this season. At first I though it was just a commercial cause it was in a real snowy environment...

Do not worry even the writers are clearly `lost'. The show has now degenerated into complete bollocks, then again most TV is. They are spinning out a story that should have finished about 10 episodes ago.
