I thought that because of the first movie the curse was broken for the whole crew even the monkey? Any clarification would be great. The only advice i got was that it would be answered in the thrid and final movie.

ok, heres what happend....at the VERY end of the movie after the credits it shows the monkey taking a coin...sooooo the monkey, captain barbossa, captain jack sparrow, and everyone else in the crew of the black pearl are still undead, thats why captain jack didnt really die in the 2nd one because he cant die!!!! and i thought it was confusing because the only one that they EVER showed in the moonlight in the 2nd movie was the monkey because they had to remind u that the curse was still real!!!!!!!

Actually, if you watch the first Pirates, after the credits there is a scene of the monkey stealing another piece of gold from the chest. Therefore, the monkey (and only the monkey, cuz he's the only one who took another piece) is still undead. Hope that helps!

Yeah, I went back and rented the 1st one....someone said there was a surprise ending after the credits of dead man's chest in the threatres....so when rented "Black Pearl" saw the monkey steal the piece at the end of the credits of that one too.
That is also a good question...maybe someone should ask that how is Capt. B still alive?? ha!
