There should not be an alimony awarded to an unmarried woman unless you have lived together long enough to be considered common law married in some states. I think you are asking about child support based upon your other questions. That is based upon your income and call your local court for that information.

Alimony is paid when you have been married. I think you mean child support.

Child support varies from state to state but it is a percentage of your income before taxes are taken out.

FOR EXAMPLE ONLY

Say you make $500.00 a week before taxes. The child support in your state might say you have to pay 15% of your pretax income in child support. On $500.00 that would be $75.00 a week.

You might also be required to carry medical insurance on the child.

A word of advice. Be absolutely sure the child is yours before you pay for years. Ask for a paternity test. Even if you have to pay for it, if it turns out the child isn't yours you will have saved yourself a lot of money and grief in the long run.

Good luck!

that is ahndled by the court. depending on the state you live in . in some cases the amount of child support is determined by the judge, but it is based on the income of the parent who loses custody. the best solution for this is to consult a family law attorney
