If your having trouble reading the 'Davinci Code', try listening to it on cassette or CD while you are doing another task.

Why bother trying? The scam which is the basis of the book was exposed in a tv documentary years ago. Some authors and film makers use the excuse of art to profit from lies. Think Oliver Stone's film "JFK", fiction and lies from start to finish, yet seen as The Truth, by some idiots. Or that film (forgotten its name) about how the Yanks broke the Enigma Code?On yeah? Or what about Jurassic Park? Ever read Dinosaur Heresies, the book about a fossil hunter, which was more than extensively used?
YET Jurassic Park is actually a decent read, which Da Vinci Code is not. What did Tom Leherer say *Plagiarise, let no one elses work evade your eyes"
Any way if you are truly feeling a failure, I hope she/he is worth feeling. Only joking of course!

It's just a book. Sometimes I don't like certain genres so I just don't read the books, no matter how great people may say they are.
I found the Da Vinci Code interesting and therefore managed to finish it easily, as I did with Angels & Demons. But that was all the Dan Brown I could take.
I'm sure other people didn't like it or didn't find it interesting so don't fret! Personally I know people who don't care to read the book or watch the movie.

It's okay. Maybe the story didn't interest you enough and that's okay. Not everyone's a fan of the Da Vinci Code, it has its fans and its critics. I'm seriously the only one in my family that both read the book and enjoyed it. A realative said she wasn't a fan of Dan Briown's style. And that's fine, it's her opinion. And it's okay that you didn't like The Da Vinci Code, it just wasn't for you. You don't have to like all these popular books because you read whatever you want to read. Find a book that you like. And it's okay if you pick up a book, don't like it, and put it back down. There are other books out there. Don't feel like a failure because you're not. Some popular books I've read I've hated.

I couldn't stick with Dracula back in high school when they made us read it.... but a few years later i read it an enjoyed it...put it away and try again latter...you may not be in the mood for that book right now.
and if you still don't enjoy it the second time you try to read it don' t worry about it ...everybody doesn't have to like the same thing... differences are cool

You're not a failure!!!

Dan Brown maybe a failure for writing a funny novel but you are for sure no failure :-)

Perhaps you may want to increase your reading horizons. I'm not sure how as I don't know what kind of stuff you like reading but picking strange books by random can be rather fun.

I do it all the time and have some (I think) cool reading material :-)

I just finished it without any problems. I even had most of the puzzles figured out before they gave away the answers. Face it sister this book may just be over your head. Stick to something a little more simple at your reading level.

I read the whole lot, in about half a day, poor book, I kept skipping loads, not well written, based on a old idea that the BBC did a documentary on at least 10 years ago.
