They won in 1987 and 1991 as the Twins. As the Washington Senators, they won the world series in 1924 with star pitcher Walter Johnson on the hill. In 1987 they defeated the St. Louis Cardinals to become the team with the worst record (85-77) to win the world series. In 1991 they defeated the Atlanta Braves. All three of the world series' that the Twins/Senators won were decided in the maximum of seven games.

1987-beat the Cardinals. 1991-beat the Braves. The Twins have NEVER won a road World Series game. 1965,0-3 against the Dodgers in LA(also lost at home in game 7) 1987,0-3 in St Louis, and 1991, 0-3 in Atlanta. One of my fondest memories ever-Kirby Puckett's home run in 1991, game 6. The TV announcer simply saying"we'll see ya tomorrow night" The "tomorrow night" being Jack Morris' brilliant performance in game 7. Some baseball people think this was the greatest World Series ever!
