I think there has been so many things like this that has happened during the Bush administration, and yes it is treason. The leaks are the real treason, and I think the leakers should be tried right alongside of those responsible in the times. The leakers should be put away for a long time, and the times leakers should be given hefty fines and a criminal record. The times (and the other media that published the story) should all receive heavy fines (the company as a whole). Repeated offenders should go to prison.

I don't believe they should be tried for treason. The information had to come from a source and that big mouth might be tried. Time News only reports what's been given to them. If anyone is held to treason; it should be the Senate, House and White House Administration for the terrible mess it has allow this wonderful country to erode into and fester for years. Shame on all of them Democrats and Republicans alike.

President Bush promised in a speech 2 weeks after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist assaults that federal officials may artwork with monetary establishments to music money transfers to terrorists. So the recent york circumstances tale isn't new. by skill of ways, the circumstances replaced into not the purely paper freeing this tale. Opposing the warfare does not advise doing "something to help us lose."

They should only be tried for treason if it is treasonous to disseminate commonly known information that anyone could have learned by searching the internet and other public sources.

how would that solve ANYTHING??? this is the problem with our current governemental statis. don't you see? Destroying the New York Times, just like destroying "terrorists", is not going to stop ANYTHING. if anything would happen, it would increase journalism activity. i realize it's too late to stop us from being global enemies, but let's save ourselves before the enemies are right here in the US.
so, no. i don't think that your solution would solve a thing. capital punishment isn't the right choice, in any case. can't you at least TRY and understand that those executives are human beings just like you, trying to make a living to feed their families?

This matter is yet another attempt by Republicans to misdirect public attention from the failures of the Bush Administration. It goes with flag burning amendments and marriage amendments.
