The people on Family Guy do not understand Stewie the only one that understands him is Brian the dog. All the people here is goo-goo-ga-ga. You know baby language.

This is actually a good question that's asked in one of the episodes of Family Guy. I think the only one that clearly understands him is Brian.

I watch from the context that they do not understand his dialog as mature communication - although it appears Brian gets it.
When they do catch a clue it is from the "setup" and that just keeps the storyline valid for the humor they are dishing up.
Got to love that kid - but, I wouldn't want to be his parent.

yeah they do because wen stewie says die louise she says not now stewie and picks him up then sits him back down on the floor wen shes doing dishes

No, they do not. They hear baby talk, but infer what he means. They DO understand Brian, however; and the fact that their dog talks is never commented upon.

In the Earlier epsidodes they did not, but around 3rd season they did

i was wondering that same question last night. u kno wat, i think that they do understand him, they just *ignore* him sometimes. well, except for the dog.
