I started to go bald at the age of 19, I am now 45. I started shaving my head completly about 2 years ago and it looks much better.

The only temporary measure I ever found was to use marmalade.

You rub it into your scalp and roll under the bed with the dust bunnies. It worked really well, although afterwards I had hair that looked like it belonged to Michael Jackson and I was followed everywhere by Paddington bear.

As far as I know the only way to prevent male pattern baldness is to die young (not that I am recommending this). I am sure that there are many treatments to counteract the effects of baldness and I am sure many people will tell us shortly, but do remember, very few people die of baldnesss! Enjoy Life!!!!

Nobody knows for certain if it's possible to prevent baldness, since how can you be sure who has prevented it, and who wouldn't have gone bald anyway!

Personally, I believe that modern day shampoos have something to do with it.(just instinct) so my advice for what it's worth is just to use water on it's own to rinse your hair.

There is no known prevention for male pattern baldness. Two common drugs used to "treat" male pattern baldness are Minoxidil and Finasteride.
