About a year ago, I finally found proof that my husband really didn't go to Stanford Med School at all, in fact he never went to college. We've been married almost 5 years. He even ordered a fake diploma on line to try to cover his lies. I hope you find the answer to this question, I would really like to know.

No. You won't know abt the person totally. Because everyone has a secret past, a secret habit and many flaws that cannot be seen. If you communicate enough, perhaps, things will come clean.

Chris Rock had a great line about "your representative will be dating my representative for the first three months." Funny, but true!

It's easy to be conned by someone who is trying hard to be the person they want to be, but who they aren' at heart.

Trust is key, too much trust is naive.

No one does. But if you sit back and wait for things like that to happen or if you dwell on "what could be" then things WILL happen. You have to stay positive in your relationship, because the ones who ARE doing things like what your friend's husband did, they will get what's coming to them. Karma is a BIT**.

You do as long as everyone is honest... although everyone has their secrets you can only hope that you are with the right person and that they trust you and will confide in you

everyone has secrets. i don't think a person can know everything about their significant other. you just have to trust them. hope that doesn't scare you away from relationships.

you never really know a person. but that depends on the person, on what level of trust you share. but my guess is that no, you never can know all the secrets the other has and every dream, every fear. i don't think it's posible.

i think about that everyday! this is so true, you hear stories like this all the time. one of my very good friends just went thru something like this. i feel for her so much, i hate to see her hurting. i tell her everyday i wish i could snap my fingers and he will disappear or i wish i could take the hurt away.

You can grow up with a person and still never know everything about them. You can sleep beside a person, share your innermost thoughts, and still have one of those moments when you smack your head and say, 'WTF!' when something like that happens. That's life.
