Condoms are better than nothing...but you have just as much to worry about than if you didn't use one.

Yes, 30% of the time. Condoms are only 70% effective, so you can still get pregnant, and still contract an STD. If you wanna be safe then get on the pill or some other type of birth control, and use condoms too. (the pill isn't 100% effective either, my hubby and i found that out!)The only protection against STD's is abstinence. However, condoms along with careful sexual partner selection is your next closest bet. And by careful sexual partner selection i mean, someone with whom you are in a very serious relationship with or married to. (very serious relationship requires a minimum of at least six months, if not longer!!) A good guide for sex is, if you're not old enough to legally work a full time job, then you're not old enough to be having sex. Because a full time job is what you will be doing if you or your partner gets preggie!

Well, considering the fact that the failure rate on a correctly applied condom is 1 in 100, what do you think? That doesn't even allow for condoms that aren't used properly. Both parties need to use protection to reduce the chance of pregnancy, and of course, the condom should be used to prevent transmission of disease as well.

If you have sex without a condom you have alot to worry about, and I think that would be obvious.

Condoms aren't 100% ither, and many virus' are smaller than the holes in the latex, meaning that they can get through the condom.

Condoms have a documented effectiveness of around 80%..that leaves a margin of 20 % as risk. which is high if you have an active sexual life! :-)
Alternative contraception such as pills, iud and anti spermicidals are suggested. Check with your Doc.
Also there are emergency contraceptions in case you have sex unprotected which stop a pregnancy uptil 72 hours post sex. These work but best under the advise of a good doctor.

You have a 99% chance of everything being fine, provided the condom was fitted properly, and didn't break at all. It can be a little trying, but I'm sure you have nothing to worry about if neither of those two happened!

It depends on whether or not you are also on some other kind of birth control. Condoms are not 100% effective for preventing pregnancy. I have two children both concieved while using condoms.

whenever you decide to have sex. with a condom or without a condom. you should always protect yourself. with sex there comes responsibility. so if your not ready . just wait . it will happen eventually. because once it happens you can never get it back.

you shouldn't, no. Unless the condom broke or you poked holes in it or coated it with vaseline. Of course, if you're so worried about it, even though you used protection, then maybe you shouldn't be having sex

The HIV virus is much much smaller than the size of sperm... so even though you greatly reduce the chance of STD or pregnancy with the condom they do next to nothing in term of stopping HIV. Hope this helps..
