What are her best recordings which are very "moving"?

In fact I love every recording of Maria Callas, but one of her most exciting recordings is in my opinion "Medea", an opera of the Italian composer Luigi Cherubini.
The second best is her second studio recording of "Tosca" from Giacomo Puccini.

I would go for the von Karajan recording of Il Truvatore. She was supposed to be brilliant in Bellini's operas, but I have heard any of these recordings. She was at her best before 1954, so stick to the older recordings if you can - Tosca was her debut role in 1941, so that might be worht a listen. She had a wonderful voice and a sad love life and was therefore one of the most romantic heroines of opera EVER. Enjoy!

The love aria from Tosca, Mimis aria from La Boheme, just about everything she did. Apart from a later metallic top register, she was wonderful, and her art reflected her life.
